Magnolia Events & Planning was started in 2004 by Christina Zubowicz and TODAY the firm is a cooperative of experienced, dedicated event planners led by Laura Maddox and Sara Parker with a team of social directors.

This event planning team exemplifies a strong service acumen, with trademark energy and positivity that builds and maintains constructive alliances with vendors and clients. The collaborative approach to vendor relationships supports prudent and careful execution of events. The Companies’ events have been widely featured in Town & Country, Grace Ormonde, The Atlantan Bride, Occasions Magazine, Brides Atlanta, as well as on the cover of Atlanta Jewish Times.

Bio -  Laura Maddox

Laura Maddox has over a decade of experience in hospitality. Through the years she has worked in all aspects of the industry for Capital City Club, Starwood Hotels and properties, many restaurants in and around Atlanta, as well as a number of private employers.

She earned a degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism management from the University of South Carolina. Laura came to Atlanta to work as the front office supervisor for the Westin Atlanta North, in turn spending many years learning all aspects of the hotel environment. Nicknamed “The Westin Chameleon” Laura would often take on new roles or spend weeks in various departments to learn how the entire hotel structure operated.

Laura has completed work on her Masters in Business Administration and prior to joining Magnolia Events & Planning full time, she served as an Executive Assistant to the Senior Vice President of Grey Global and Senior Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer of the Mother Nature Network. She assisted with daily business and personal tasks, in addition to planning many of the social occasions and events fashioned both personally and professionally by the companies.
Laura started part time in 2009 for the firm and quickly became a leader in the local event community. She has directed numerous high profile events with tremendous success while building an even more powerful reputation, which led her to becoming a partner in Magnolia Events & Planning in 2011.

Laura resides in Roswell with her husband, son, daughter, and two dogs - she is always ready with some pictures if you ask! When she's not planning fabulous events around the city you can find her in practicing her culinary talents, training for her next half marathon or bike race, contributing to her church or spending time with her large extended family.

Bio - Sara Parker

Magnolia Events & Planning - Event Planning Atlanta & Atlanta Wedding Coordination, Wedding Planning & Event Planning - Melissa MeadowsSara Parker has worked with Magnolia for over two years assisting in the planning and coordination of the firm’s weddings, mitzvahs and social occasions. She holds an extensive background in marketing and customer service and has almost a decade of planning and coordinating experience.

Sara graduated from the University of Georgia in 2006 and has successfully executed over 2000 events in the hospitality, insurance and pharmaceutical industries.

Sara has strong communication skills geared to both internal leadership and providing outstanding customer service. She is an excellent multi-tasker and is very organized. Not only is Sara detailed oriented, but she is also passionate about customer service and building relationships. Sara is a valuable team member and works hard to ensure wonderful and stress-free events.

Sara also loves spending time with her husband and family, being active, reading, spending time at the lake, and checking out great restaurants!

Bio - Christina Zubowicz

Magnolia Events & Planning - Event Planning Atlanta & Atlanta Wedding Coordination, Wedding Planning & Event Planning - Christina ZubowiczChristina Zubowicz plans, coordinates, and produces weddings, mitzvahs, social occasions, and non-profit as well as corporate events. She is a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants and her clients have included national magazines, Fortune 500 companies, and brides from Atlanta and throughout the region. She is a highly published event planner and known as an industry expert.

Christina earned her event stripes working for Bold American Catering and The Fifth Group Restaurants, serving in event management, marketing coordination and operations management for the organization. She participated in the management and planning for hundreds of weddings and corporate events and was recognized as a “Reason to Return” to Bold American Catering.

Christina also has numerous years of restaurant management experience with legendary Atlanta restaurants like Bridgetown Grill, Indigo Coastal Grill and the renowned Seeger’s, where she served on the team that earned the Mobil Five Star Award, the AAA Five Diamond Award, and the “Triple Crown” Award.

Christina has a BBA in Management with a concentration in Marketing from Georgia State University and a Master’s in Psychology from the State University of West Georgia. She is an apprentice pilot and has completed her first solo flight. She supports and participates in several charities such as the Piedmont Park Conservancy, Annandale Village, past Board member for The Frazer Center, which serves the needs of children and adults with developmental disabilities.
